Auto-Aim and Magnetism help

Post by Vegerot » Tue Feb 22, 2011 10:03 am

(let me just tell you, that this time I actually DID use the search button before posting) So, I won't be able to use my Xbox for a while. So I have decided to do some more modding. A LONG time ago, I was messing around in Eschaton (going a little off topic, but have you guys ever noticed, that for most parts of Eschaton nobody can TEACH you; Because I know that for me at least, you just have to spend time with it and figure stuff out on your own; but for things like this, it doesn't hurt to have a little extra help) and I saw some things for magnetism and auto-aim and I decided to take a look at it.; and when I played it, I was pretty disappointed. First of all, the reticule would rarely turn red, and when my reticule would be right on an enemy, my bullets would go in completely random trajectories*. So now, today I'm modding and I have come face to face with these "floats" calling my name. So before I mess around with it again, can someone tell me how to not mess up my map? Would telling you it's a campaign map help at all?

*There were a couple other problems with it as well, but it was so long ago I can't remember.
P.S. Is it just me, or is modding campaign much more fun than modding multiplayer?
P.P.S. Don't worry, since I'm gonna be modding campaign you don't have to worry about me breaking into your game and killing all of you.
Edit: And while I'm at it, I remember seeing a flag that lets you make weapons headshot capable or not, but I have no clue where it is .

1. Use my plugins
2. Profit
3. There is no step three.

That is the WORST help ever!!! What I'm asking is HOW DO I USE THEM!!!!! For example, there is Magnetism in both MATG and WEAP sections! What do they mean?! How do I use them? Does making higher magnetism better or worse?! Does making higher auto-aim better or worse?! What's the difference between the ones in the MATG and the WEAP sections?!?!?!?!!!!!! So what you're saying is completely stupid, and irrelevant (I already have your plugins)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I'm in a REALLY bad mood right now!!!!!!!!

I thought these descriptions in Eschaton 0.8.1.1 were rather self-explanatory. Autoaim is when the reticle changes to red and when the weapon "sees" the target. Magnetism is like homing on a projectile, but it's actually that you shoot directly at the target (so like if you shoot a pistol bullet when the reticle is red, that's autoaim from the reticle turning red and the weapon locking onto the target, and magnetism from the weapon shooting directly at the target). If you had autoaim but no magnetism, then bullets would not automatically hit the target even though the reticle was red. If you had magnetism but no autoaim, then bullets would hit the targets even though the reticle didn't turn red.

It's either that or the exact opposite roles.

P.S. "Assault rifle laser pointer" was a mild success, but not enough.

Okay, let me ask these few questions. 1st of all, does the non-scoped sniper rifle have 0 auto-aim (as it never turns red)? And if I make the magnetism really BIG does it make them more "attractive" or do I have to make it more small[like weapon spread] to make it more attractive? And what is the difference between the Magnetism in the MATG than the Magnetism in the WEAP section?

I don't see a magnetism in matg besides that associated with difficulty levels and AI.

There are two values to adjust, angle and range. Angle is in radians; higher numbers mean wider angles from the camera view's perspective, or the player's head. Range is in world units; higher numbers means a larger distance from the target. To make it "super", make both numbers relatively high: 3.14 radians and 1000 range.

From what I've seen, either magnetism or autoaim might even turn the gun in your hands towards the target when in first-person view.
