Andor!
I really hope that you can come back here for a bit. Your Refresh mod was amazing, I think it made some marks in the modding community with it. The complete overhaul of the Halo graphical engine represents a clean, better, improved look. As much as I can hope, I still cannot prevent you for going on your ways. Everyone has a life, and no one must be restricted. However, I enjoyed Refresh v1 as well as v1.5 . Refresh v2 is currently looking wonderful too, but looks..unfinished, i suppose.
May your great work be passed down and heard throughout the modding community.
Cheers!

I, too, feel myself being tugged away from modding.
Godspeed, and God bless. Thank you very much for sharing your inspiring creative work!

I too feel myself getting tugged away from from modding. After I got Halo: Reach, well, it just seems that no matter how much work you put into it, it just can't par with Halo 2, it definitely can't par with Halo 3, and it sure as hell can't par with Halo: Reach. But I WILL do some modding every once in a while, just not as much as I used to.

Re: [WIP] Refresh v2
dont think of modding to par with other halo's. think of it as a creativity thing. so what, we cant use a gravity hammer(or can weee.........yeah we can) but thats not the point of modding. also, its fun to beat the system.

Modding is not to make halo 1 more like the other halos, but to make halo 1 a fresh new halo....Vegerot wrote:I too feel myself getting tugged away from from modding. Yes you did. Thanks, kinda....
Re: [WIP] Refresh v2
Given mac tools, we should be able to contribute to all those Bungie gaming communities equally. I suppose my main purpose for Zeus is to unify Bungie's Halo gaming communities. Since the goal for Zeus is to allow creation and modification of any Halo series maps, that goal seems feasible. There was a C++ project called Prometheus that was abandoned after a long time, but it was not open-source like Zeus will be. At the very least, I hope to provide a functional scenario editor and Objective-C classes for map file reading and editing with support for all the Halo 1 platforms and Halo 2. But the end goal is to include all 7 games: Halo 1, Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST, Reach, and the betas for ODST and Reach. That's still in line with the goal of creating new playability for each game. I hope to smoothly handle any engine limitations for each game, also, at least by showing any detail level issues alongside recommended levels.
With Zeus, we should easily be able to make amazing projects like Refresh, but also with models and sounds, not only bitmaps and shaders.
