Invalid Installer File (error)

Someone in my squad is having issues installing Raven Shield. He has the retail version (which he bought), and is getting an Invalid Installer File Error when trying to install it on his computer.

I thought I remember figuring out a fix for this a long time ago but it's lost somewhere deep in the crevasses of my mind, nowhere to return.

Does anyone remember or know of a fix for this?

I thought it was a permission issue, but he has basically lost hope and I'm the only one putting any real effort into figuring it out again.....

I've looked everywhere else on the net and can't find anything on the topic.

Any other help would be much appreciated.

I don't know the fix but was the error showing up when he went to disc 2? For me ever since I took the game out of the box disc 2 has given me problems. My solution was to burn disc 2 to a new CD and I haven't had a problem since.

I think I either used Toast and just did a complete cd copy or I used the disk copy app that comes with the comp.

Well, after trying to install a fresh copy of RvS, to test if the Iron Wrath Weapons Mod worked, I ran into the Invalid Installer file issue.

And I figured out the solution!!!!

Do a find for com.aspyr.ravenshield.plist and delete it!!!!!!

Then disconnect your computer from the internet, and reboot your computer.

You should now be able to install the game without the dreaded Invalid Installer File Error.

Reconnect your computer to the internet afterward, and you should be good to go.
