Mac Gaming Mods

For Mac???

I knew someone would post this. The expansion requires a cd-key and a pc app to be installed for it to be installed. I have e-mailed Ubisoft asking about the cd-key issue and Macs. If everything is ok then I will post it on here.

lol couldn't keep my mouth shut. Ubi wouldn't be making a Mac conversion, maybe an email to Aspyr Media would clear that up. To work it would either have to be recompiled for v1.57 or the Mac community would have to be patched up to 1.6. Unlike GhR:IT I doubt anyone is up for converting a mod and completely recompiling it to be backwards compatible but hey at least this time it's free.

The problem isn't the Mac conversion, it is having access to it since it requires a CD-key and the PC version to install it. Since the Mac version of RVS doesn't have a cd-key we are stuck.

woooah.. man looks pretty 1337, those ppl got too much time on their hands, but i dun think aspyr would be getting around to doing this stuff for next little bit, they're really focusing on the games that makes them some cash

OK, I have a german PC version plus Key what do I have to do??

To get it to your Mac, you need to install it on a PC then transfer the installed files to your Mac.

For the stupid one.. i do install Iron Wrath on the PC and the copy the entire Folder (if it is one) to the corrosponding folder at the mac.. Will it work like a mod ( like Vadims weapons)?

Why are there a uk and a us version availible?? does it matter that I have the german PC Game and the UK Mac game?? I know all the stupid questions... and I ask them

Yes, it works just like the Athena Sword expansion pack. I'm not sure on if the German and UK versions are compatiable. If they are compatiable, all the text is probably in German.

That'd require purchasing a retail copy of RvS for PC...

Yes it would. The installer checks to see if you have RvS installed before it starts.

OK no prob in installing the files on ther german PC game.. just changing the .ini file to Language=int did the trick.
Runs nicely and no Key was required so far (but haven't played online so far)

If you run a non-supported Language of Raven Shield (like german) you HAVE to download the US Version. The trick won't work with the UK Version.

Finding that out cost me 1 GB of additional download

Conversion to Mac will be done over the weekend..

I think he meant his own personal conversion, it'd be illegal to just put it out there on the web (I'm pretty sure)

I'll probably just borrow a copy of RvS PC from a friend I guess. Maybe someone in the Mac community could build a script that unpacks the mod itself without having a regular copy of RvS kind of like the IT Mod.
