Interest in an Iron Wrath port? Or even some new guns?

Let me introduce myself; I'm Twi (aka Twilight), a modder for Raven Shield PC. I'm a member of the Ordnance Project dev team along with Vadim who I believe has posted here before. I've also made 99% of the multiplayer mods in the PC community.

Recently on a PC forum I frequent, I was contacted by someone who plays Rvs on Mac and wanted to know if porting Iron Wrath to Mac would be possible. After some discussion with him, I am now convinced the port would indeed be possible, and would actually be able to work online. It would be a lot of work, and because I don't even have a Mac I would require some testers. I also tried to download a copy of the maps that are currently ported to Mac, but they're a DMG file and my computer can't open it.

I can also do more besides just Iron Wrath porting. If you are interested in some fancy new guns, I could probably port over some new weapons. A mod I'm currently working on for PC is full of high-resolution guns; any interest in that?

I've also done stuff like making my own SDK, getting bullets to penetrate walls, bullet trajectory, etc. A lot of this (though not all) can probably be ported from PC 1.6 to Mac.

Let me know if there's any interest in getting some new mods for Mac, and I will see what I can do over some free summer time.

EDIT: I've also made anticheats before. The current anticheat on the PC version is Sentinel, my work.

The best way to check if the map or mod will work on the Mac version is to make sure it works for Raven Shield 1.56 or below. The Mac version never got a 1.6 patch. For most maps they just need a version change to work on Mac. This isn't full-proof as there are some maps for whatever reason don't work even with that but for the majority it will. It has been sometime since I went over Iron Wrath so most of the things I had figured out with it have been lost in my head somewhere. Here are the Iron Wrath maps in a zip file.

And yep, I know about the Mac version number. My buddy EliteMercenary explained all that to me. He also explained how Mac MP gaming works, with GR or direct IP, which makes me sure that we could get this mod working online too. Unfortunately, in the PC version of the game, UBI locked out all mods except for their official ones from working online. Then they shut down the Iron Wrath CD key server so nobody can play it online.

Hi Twi, I'm keen to beta test. I've been playing RvS on Mac for like about 6 years? I've have all the RvS maps I can find for Mac, thanks largely to the Monoman here.

I'm interested in this mod for mac also.
Since mac version (1.56 i think..) is different than PC (1.6), Mac side had no mods.
If it is ready to play I and JR are gonna test this out.

Glad to see some interest. Sorry for disappearing for a month I'll get right back into doing some modding and we'll see how the Mac stuff turns out.

I'm nearing completion on my current mod for PC version 1.6. When that's done, I'll try porting all those guns to Mac, along with anything else I can get my hands on. Lately I've been browsing the counterstrike source mods at FPSBanana, and converting the gun models to Unreal Editor format

I am very interested as well, especially if you are able to change the penetrability of walls and stuff. I really think if the IR Scope is able to see something you should be able to shoot it.

Some new Guns would be fun. What I really miss with any PC Mod is that you will not be warned in-game what maps are playable in your current settings.
