Camping is a legitimate strategy suitable especially in defensive situations.

How would it not be a legitimate strategy? The only people who would vote "No" are people who don't like campers. Camping IS a legitimate strategy, since you can get kills and hide if someone is trying to kill you.

Another similar method involves occupying a base and spawn killing everyone who spawns, effectively farming a base. While this is pretty damn annoying, it can give lots of free kills. Once again, a perfectly good strategy.

I don't exactly hate people who camp. It really depends what gametype your playing and what weapon you have. I especially hate camping in Call of Duty and Battlefield. But in Halo there is pretty much no point. Well kinda, it can give you an efficient lead in the killing process which is longer then other games. Sometimes you want to watch out when your camping because if you stay somewhere to long then it can really expose you.
So, yes, camping is a legitimate strategy, but you also should be aware of your exposures.

I think It is. As a
counter
camper strike player I tend to try and avoid camping whenever i can, but in some situations you have to.

But yeah, It probably depends on the game. In CS you have to camp. Especially in ranked games while defending.

Of course, there's camping and camping. If you're camping in a corner outside a door shooting people in the back whenever they go through you're more of a piece of shit than if you're just sniping from one end of the map to another, imo.
But in any case if you die because of a camper, it's your fault for not checking if they were there. (at least in CS)
