Was it the show where they build a wall on the stage and they project pictures on the wall while they do? I've seen videos of it because a friend of mine's father went there in… Milan, i think? circa 6 months ago.

Yes it was, They built the wall and projected super high quality images and scenes onto it, tying it together with a really strong anti-war message. Then the pushed it over.
Also he's been touring the show for the last year or 2. He's almost finished the run, he's got NZ to go and then i think thats it.

My buddy showed me some youtube footage of one of these shows, it must have felt like a dream.

Indeed it did, especially "Comfortably Numb" and "Hey you", they both felt really trancelike.
