Starcraft and Halo similarities

ok, watch the intro cinematic for starcraft I, that beam that destroyed the terran ship (from protoss ship) looked like the plasma thing from halo 2 that shot out of the ship. also, on the terran campaign, the level after the data disk thing it talks about planetary bombardment.

Two relatively generic games semi-redefined entire genres?!?! NO WAI!
Also, throw in AvP and you get a threesome of games that include parasitic aliens, aliens that are masters of technology and/or mysticism, and plain old Humans. I'm sure you can find more of these types too*. Its a perfect trio.
*Half-Life 2 perhaps?
