Hey guys. Yeah we don't operate via MGM anymore.
Future updates may include a static URL for our stuff to be posted.
In other news my laptop was stolen a few days after I sent that mass message and... well we lost EP 5 of Clan~Wars...

((
But I has a newerish iMac to work with
ALSO!!! Very excciting for us all is the latest that Steam is coming to mac along with all the games. Hopefully this site can expand into modding Source engine games (it's really quite a versatile engine)
So yeah. That's all I got for now.... See you all when Portal 2 comes out.

Hey... I got that news before you. Oddly enough though, my friends got that news before me. I am annoyed in the fact that my PC using friends find it not a big deal, especially not a big enough deal to tell me about it. Valve coming to Mac essentially makes it the most perfect computer and OS combination ever, since now it does gaming too. The games that are important are the highly customizable ones, for example, anything made with Source. Every other game I would get is on the 360, and they have no difference from the PC platform. That leaves the last few games I would buy on the PS3. And by few, I mean two. LBP and PixelJunk Shooter (which should be remade for iPod Touch/iPhone -_- )
Long live Apple. And Valve, Blizzard, and Bungie. Now hop back on the Mac train, Bungie. After you wrap up Reach you should return to your roots.

A few responses to my posting in another forum:
I mean, it's great and all for Mac users, but who honestly want's to play with 10fps?
Plenty of Macs can run with Windows- based machines. It's not an issue of current performance; it's the fact that if you want better video performance on your iMac you have to buy a new one. PCs have become the gaming machines they are because you don't have to throw out the entire machine to make performance better.
If the gaming market for Mac becomes big, Apple will have to release a relatively inexpensive ATX spec tower design and get hardware makers to get behind making OS X compatable components if they want to protect and grow the market share.
Ignorant asshats.

Left 4 dead and portal ftw!
And you know what's even better? My friends on PCs already share a steam account! So I can just ask them for all the info and BAM! You get-a spicy meat-a-ball!

Yeah my experience of gaming on the mac has been great. I can run Valve games under WINE almost as good as i could on a raw windows install.. I'm sure natively on the mac will be even better.
And where does the idea that macs suck at gaming come from? They support a good amount of OpenGL which is a million times better at gaming than DirectX.... Maybe pc users only used 20 year old macs and then switched and never looked back? People seam oddly ignorant about the mac's capabilities...

That's true. On the first E3 when halo appeared, Steve jobs said it would be realesed for mac and not windows because of the macs processing power, graphics capabilities and over all capability. The reason why most games don't come out to mac is probably because windows nearly has a monopoly on the computer market and most game companies figure that because of this, if they released a game for mac, there would be no net gain.

So if I bought a number of games for windows. Do i get mac versions or do I need to buy it for mac??
Or are only certain newer games coming out on mac.
Edit: Just read the steam site.

Steam allows you to download ANY game as long as you have the proper operating system. However for the mac version, I think we will have a quite limited choice, as many companies are not going to try converting PC games to mac.

Old by today's standards. The official announcement was on the 3rd.
Also, the fact that Mac runs Winblows better than PC's do is reason enough to have one.
Oh, I might add that the reason we dont have DirectX and its annoyingness is because of Microsoft's 3E approach to developement:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embrace,_e ... extinguish
Also,
Lawlz. There is an entire wiki page devoted to this. Unbelievable.

I didnt see this, do I didnt make a comment. I count the entire library of Source games as a very significant step in improving Native Mac gaming. Plus, if you havnt seen the list of Valve's Source games, you will be impressed. Getting even just half of them will keep you occupied for a long, long time -more so if you get Counter Strike or Team Fortress. And then the entire Half-Life series lasts for a decently long amount of time. Portal is good enough to keep playing over and over, to try new things out and push its limits.
Also, the move means that Indie developers have a better audience to spread their games to. World of Goo and Braid were released for Mac as well, but think of how much more publicity they would get being on a Mac version of Steam. Plus, we may finally get the HL2 and Portal editions of Peggle. Oh, and $10 for Gmod, the absolute most realistic 3D real-time multiplayer physics simulator or all time. Thats not even mentioning the plugins, add-ons, gametypes, and maps that come with it. And of course, the ability to build whatever you want with shipping containers and explosive barrels (thats scratching an atom off the surface of a 6ft steel wall). Toss in some great ragdoll physics and you have one hell of a sandbox game.
