Portal 2

Post by draconic74 » Tue Mar 09, 2010 12:11 am

Another small update topic I have to make.

http://kotaku.com/5486758/portal-2-adds ... characters
http://www.macrumors.com/2010/03/03/val ... e-for-mac/

First one details some gameplay stuff, like that it will have co-op and lots more levels. And for the more important info: Portal 2 is coming to Mac, along with Steam and (oh please...) perhaps most source games. How awesome would that be. Now I can finally buy a new computer without worrying about it needing to run windows, as the only games I want to play will be on my Mac.*

Finally Valve is expanding a little. However, they still refuse to develop for the PS3 due to its confusing hardware (Cell ftl).

*Thats Starcraft II, Diablo III, Portal 2, EvE Online, and perhaps the entire Source library of games. Or at least Gmod. Please, please have Gmod.

And for the lawlz:

Meh, edited it to make it better and more relevant. The essential thing is, Valve is going Mac. Which means... everything.

Imma go cry

I doubt the 10.6 part. Intel is a must though. For one thing, Apple doesnt even sell PPC anymore. And it probably will be 10.5+/10.6+, which comes with all Apple computers sold right now. So in other words, but any new Mac and you should be able to run it (this includes the old-style white plastic MacBook and the Minis*). In fact, buy any recent Mac off eBay and it should still work, as long as its got a nice graphics card and enough memory. Portal's Requirements

*Hell, the Minis are actually freakin awesome when it comes to games. They are cheap and fairly powerful. Just... you need a monitor.

Thats more than enough to run Source games. As a plus, it would still run Source games through Crossover and those other emulators. So you just maybe could run CS:S or something on Windows and Mac on the same machine, joined into the same online match. And watch the hilarity ensue.

HEEEEEL YEEEEEEAH BOOOOOI!
Finally some production group has common sense and is producing a game for the mac community. I wonder what's next? Halo for the mac again? Maybe L4D? Let's cross our fingers and pray to god or me

L4D is by Valve. At the least they are bringing L4D2 to the Mac. Not sure about the first one because of how quickly it was released.
Also, for the broken Portal requirements link: http://store.steampowered.com/app/400/
Although, thats not really hard to find. Meh.
