First, is there anyone else that seriously has airsofting as a major hobby of theirs?
Second, my current close quarters loadout:
Still trying to find a store that has the TM FiveseveN to compliment my p90 in stock. :/
Got an event today, I'll try to take some pics/video of the games.

Once I get the money, I'll start doing airsoft. Of course, my mom's a control freak and barely lets me have my toy ones.
But once I do, I'm getting
this.
Once it stops being sold out and starts being available in Canada. >_>
At least I have canadian tire and Wal-art.

Seafire, don't buy the clearsoft shit from Canadian tire and wal mart. If you want a good legal airsoft gun in Canada you need to get it on line. I intend on joining my local airsoft group as soon as I can sustain the hobby, it has always interested me. I might get into it after I go through basic with the reserves, so I would have some real tactical training under my belt to bring to the game. Plus I can't wait to get my hands on some real CADPAT and a C-7
Some people form the 405th have managed to make airsoft proof ODST armor for their games, it takes tons of time and money but it sure looks cool.

paintball is fun, but airsoft is much more of a hobby vs paintball a sport, airsoft is meant to be as realistic and military simulation-like as possible, including "missions" such as search and destroy, elimination, and hostage situations.
Not to mention paintball is fucking expensive now, and if you're seriously into it, you'd be spending $150-200 bucks easily just on a training day, let alone a game day or tournament. Bb's, you spend about $10-20 for a few thousand rounds, $10-30 for an entry fee, and play all day.
And as far as pain, you've obviously never been shot with a decent airsoft gun, my p90 will break skin at 15 meters.

So thats why you wear all that gear....
Once i went paintballing in just shorts and a t-shirt. I didnt get hurt too bad. But then again, where i got hit on bare skin, i had painful welts.

Nope, the gear is mostly just for looks, "mil-sim" realism. However the gear has a lot of benefits, for example, the two extra magazines I have strapped on my back via my vest, sure beats carrying them in pockets.
