I found this game while looking at time paradoxes on wikipedia. Very interesting...

And if you look at their youtube vids, absolutely mind-boggling. I still dont totally understand it. The game is still in the early phases of development, and does not yet have a Mac build. But the plans are to bring it to OSX and Linux later on. Its totally different from any RTS you have ever seen, and also different from any game using time manipulation as a gameplay element.

Re: Achron
That looks extremley fun. It does bring about a whole new strategy. Because in most RTS's you cant take back moves, nor can you run from battles (usually). But in this, it allows you to change the past so instead of going left and getting anihalated, go right and get a small victory. But then if the other player sees you did this, then they can just go back further in time and attack you further, because they could see your line of attack. Its basically like watching a movie, and its an interactive movie. But this leads me to one further conclusion: MAD aka Mutual Assured Destruction. I was reading about it. Basically, because you do one thing the opponent does another and you keep countering like that until you both die. Per say, if i launch a nuke at you, then you launch a nuke at me in retaliation, the process could just keep happening and repeating, but in this game, you can possibly go back in time to make sure you count can counter that initial "nuke" whether it be an army coming at your base and killing your doodz, or a bomb, where as you can launch missiles to intercept the nuke. DAMN THIS GAME IS COMPLICATED!!

Re: Achron
That's amazing.
So, it seems like the changes in time happen through these time waves that rewrite everything to fit the changes that were made. Cool. I think I kinda get it. So, if I were to attack someone and they had a larger army which destroyed mine, I could then go back in time to change what units I made, to more efficiently destroy the ones they made which they can respond to by making something ranged I guess that beats mine, and in response I could mount my attack from a different spot to hit my opponent of guard and so on until we both run out of chrono-energy stuff? That sounds like the funnest RTS I will ever play. EVAR.

Re: Achron
I really, really want to get my hands on a starcraft editor, because I had a great idea on a new gametype. It would be super-complicated, but I think with the proper make, would be awesome.
Essentially, you play on one-half of a map. The other half is another "time state". Players would gain a third resource, which could be spent to alter the "time state". For example, they can copy the current map into the time-state. Or vice-versa. And there could other weird things to do. For example, a unit that only operates in the time-state and not in the present. This would allow you to kill off units in the time-state, and then copy it over, making it so your opponent loses his things. Unless he copies the time-state or fights back with his own time units. And then there could be temporal shifts, which would allow a player to copy the time state, move their army into the shift, and then copy the time state back, doubling their forces... Hmm. Not nearly as sophisticated as Achron (not by a longshot) but still interesting. You could also create time-spy units or something to tell if an enemy has forces in that area. And perhaps a "time stop" which forces all enemy units to stop moving or attacking (would require loads of the time resource to do it for 10 seconds). And what would happen if you made 2 time-states. Oh, the possibilities.
I would buy Achron right now if I could run it on this computer. Just for the chance to mess with time and try out the multiplayer. I could probably do it in Parallels though... Maybe I should get it.
You guys should go check out gameplay of this thing. They have some 2v2 matches on Youtube.

A game like this could bring up interesting dialogue.
"Could you help me 2 minutes ago at the top right?"
"Yeah, give me a sec. Im launching an assault on the present."
"Uh oh, they are both jumping back 3 minutes. What are they doing?"
