when you edit your profile it says the max size the avatar can be is 6kb but most of those are larger than 6kb so how come they still work?

That only applies to uploaded avatars and since users can't upload their own avatars it doesn't apply.

oh ok thx dude i was just asking because my friend owns these forums and every1s avatars are crap cos they have 2 be under 6kb in size

Wasn't there an option before that allowed us to upload our own avatars? And, why aren't we allower to use HTML? Is it because you don't want movies posted? Isn't there a filter? O well...
