No, this was not the old way. I actually replaced the .icns file inside the package contents. And now I replaced the .rscs file as well, and my sidebar icons are all bright and colorful again. Thanks, Internet, where old things have a hard time dying and disappearing into the ether. At least the 9.2.1 files still exist somewhere.

also blargh, i stopped liking itunes as i did when they changed the scrolling bars from aqua to that graphiteish solid things at the sides. :-\

like, now they're constantly changing its look... again and again... ¬_¬ now they killed all the colors in the icons on the left; i'm not sure about how i feel about that.

Yeah, I wondered about that too... I do kinda like the Quicktime player's style in-app though. They changed it to the iTunes video presentation style, where the controls are in the video screen and the video has no border. Very cool. Black instead of aqua though... Hard to get used to. But then again, the Dock menus are also black. At least they are much easier to read.

Cause it doesn't look like something Apple would make. The iOS iTunes app also stands out. Video and music seem fine though. It's just weird, that's all. But I do really dislike the graying out of the in-app icons. That makes it not Mac-compatible to me.
