@ Mike: But now you use Winbloze, right? Or some form of Linux? For me, Im not sure if its worth playing Crysis if I have to deal with Microsoft's BsOS. The only games I would play are by Valve, and thats coming to Mac anyway. Everything else can be played on my 360.
Well I wouldn't want to play valve games anyway, but I agree with you otherwise; I don't want to see a Windows box near me.

You are *suppose* to have at least two Library folders. One system-wide, the other user specific. iPod opening iPhoto is a behavior you would want for cameras. Anyway, you can turn that off in either iPhoto preferences or something in image capture, or somewhere else. You can try reinstalling the OS, but you have enough hardware issues that i'd want to buy a new Mac if I were you. I'd also grab a new TI-89; x button being broken is kind of lame, though I suppose you can get by without using it.. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that you are very unlucky :P.

Eh... X button isn't broken completely. I just have to press it much harder than I would normally want to. Also, I did a Spotlight search. It looks like I actually have about 6 or so important libraries under various areas. These arent the specific ones for programs and stuff, either, they have a few of the folders in the normal libraries. Argh... found some more annoying stuff. It seems that sometimes new folders are created with a partial name of some other folder (probably some app was accessing it at the time).

For example, in one of the folders that has the library there is also a folder called "L" and another called "Libra". Under the users, there is the normal "jcharrison", but also "jc", "jch", and "jcharris". Im sure I remember seeing this elsewhere. And nowhere in the System Prefs, iPhoto Prefs, iTunes Prefs, or iPod Prefs (both on comp and iPod) can I find something to make it stop opening iPhoto. Damn.

Oh well... Cant buy a new computer until I go off to college later this year unless Blizzard surprise-announces Diablo 3. Can't really go with a desktop, so Im gonna have to get an MBP. Might as well spring for the higher model so I wont have to change it for a long time.

Now, anyone got any good shows to suggest?

I know it is definitely possible to make iphoto stop opening. Have you tried looking at Image Capture and Google?

$400

Might be able to negotiate about 50 bucks off that though.

Would be the same thing here, with the exception of "present".
