Re: Running HaloMD in Windows

Hi, I know this is probably a noob question but here goes...I have Windows 7 on one of my computers, can I run HaloMD on this? I know some PCers play on SniperGulch, so I'm assuming there's a way to run MD on Windows in some capacity-do I need to download Halo on Steam first, and if so, what versio...

Re: Petitioning against abusive Admins

HaloMD can't change anything by itself. This would have to be added on a server-by-server basis. Basically only the admins that have the power to kick people from their servers would have the power to add such a flag feature. I don't want to speak for all server admins, but my feeling is that they d...

Re: Best HALOMD Players Ever

Does the idea of a multi-player match emphasize individual play, or team work? Some games are formatted for solo conflicts - slayer, obviously. But others have teams. Does that mean the game is best served if players work together, or does it differ from map to map? Slayer games work pretty well as...

Re: Best HALOMD Players Ever

To answer Nil's question, I don't know the exact definition of lead, and I would really appreciate if you could elaborate on what it is and why it is there.. Yeah, you seem to be familiar with it. It's very related to lag. Using an image from Valve's source engine : https://developer.valvesoftware....

Re: Best HALOMD Players Ever

I'm still curious if anyone here knows what lead is and how knowing what it is drastically affects your skill in servers that have it (e.g. Eternal, most hosted games by md players). I'm one of those old classic players that cares more about skill involved in traditional halo gameplay (i.e. not big ...

Re: Best HALOMD Players Ever

I'm surprised any discussion happened here at all to be honest. I wouldn't be over strict on your specific definition of best player. I personally don't want to talk about anyone regardless of skill if I highly dislike them (e.g. boner who was banned here for multiple offensives). I for one am prett...

Re: Best HALOMD Players Ever

No offense but I'm not sure where you've been the last two years. I don't play the game anymore. I just do occasional maintenance these days. Skilled players are often accused of hacking when they're not, and it's not like the video mentions hacking whatsoever (really, who would upload a video titl...

Re: Best HALOMD Players Ever

Jon is pretty good but didn't play competitively. He's a pretty nice player to be around and great programmer though. He goes onto MD from time to time with some different pseudonym (maybe one already mentioned here?) I can never keep track of anymore. Back in 2012, the clan halo folk helped me a lo...

Re: Best HALOMD Players Ever

I don't keep up with recent times anymore, but Bun was one of the top skilled players (on the Mac side) when this game used to be extremely competitive around 8-10 years ago . MR GOAT is also an oldish player (at least from 2010? guessing..) so I know he's good as well, and doesn't hack. spf is dece...

Re: LAN Party

The latest retail version of Halo PC (1.10, not the custom edition) is compatible with HaloMD. LAN games can be joined via Direct IP in-game. Retail maps can be added in MD's maps folder which can be found in the lobby's "Mods -> Reveal Mods in Finder" menu bar option. MD Mods from https:/...

Re: How to Host A Dedicated Server Mac El Capitan

Hi, Thanks for your tutorial; absolutely priceless. I'm trying to run a server on a Mac, and everything works up until I run the server; I can't figure out how to get the IP address of my server so that I can Direct IP connect. is there a console command I need? Or am I missing a step? As I said be...

Re: Metallic Deuterium

This is really cool. I can see it being super useful for fine-tuning values while testing a mod. I'm guessing reference editing is not possible through changes in memory? Even if they can't be edited it might be nice to have a list of references to make it easier to navigate the map structure. Anyw...

Re: [Feature Request] Gravity Syncing

Just a quick update, but running memory scans and sniffing network traffic between the server and client hasn't turned up any meaningful results so far. If anyone knows how SAPP announces changes to the gravity variable to clients, that information would make this plugin one step closer to complete...

Re: Controller Crashes HaloMD

I think PS4 controllers are supposed to be plug-in-play, so you shouldn't install 3rd party drivers. But you may want to try connecting via a USB cable and not bluetooth. I've never really used or figured out Halo's controller settings myself.. Also I much rather prefer the crashlog to be pasted her...
